The challenge
Osten Group already ran environmental initiatives, but tracking the information was still manual, decentralized and inconsistent across its sites.
Data came from different sources, took time to consolidate and made it hard to spot deviations, compare results and prepare for audits by automakers.
The company needed to centralize its indicators, make its information more reliable and turn environmental monitoring into a more structured, integrated process.
How the solution was applied
With the ESG Now platform, Osten Group began centralizing environmental data from all its sites in a single environment.
Each site now has focal points responsible for entering and validating the information, which made the process more collaborative, standardized and traceable.
The company also brought its weekly environmental checks into the platform and began tracking indicators for:
- energy consumption;
- water consumption;
- waste generation;
- fuel consumption;
- gas consumption;
- vehicle visits to the workshop.
Building on this information, Osten also set up specific indicators, such as water and energy consumption per workshop visit, enabling analysis that is closer to day-to-day operations.
This case relates mainly to TrustReport, the product for centralizing data and indicator collection, enabling collaboration across departments and sites, and turning that information into reliable, traceable reports.
The result
Centralizing the information made environmental monitoring faster, more integrated and more reliable, reducing reliance on manual controls and scattered systems.
Osten Group was able to:
- track at least five categories of environmental indicators;
- spot consumption variations and deviations more quickly;
- handle automaker audits more easily and remotely;
- centralize its weekly environmental checks;
- make decisions based on data consolidated by site;
- reduce manual work and improve the consistency of its information.
Better management also came with significant recognition: Osten Group won the BMW Sustainability Award in 2022 and 2023, received a BMW distinction in 2024 and took 2nd place in the Santander Sustainability Award.
